This custom single-storey home located in Haigslea, QLD was developed using a full steel frame system featuring both raked and flat ceilings—a design that required extra attention to detail due to its complexity and non-standard configuration.
BuildSketch Drafting was engaged by the frame manufacturer to provide complete detailing services, including steel frames, trusses, and structural steel components. Our team produced precise shop drawings, layouts, and 3D visualisations using Vertex BD, ensuring every component was accurately represented and fabrication-ready.
Following our initial design submission, the project underwent review by a chartered engineer, which led to a collaborative design refinement process. We worked closely with the engineer to resolve several structural challenges and ensure the final design met certification requirements without compromising constructability.
Our flexible and proactive communication helped streamline revisions, enhance buildability, and ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and Australian building codes.
The final design was approved, certified, and fabricated on schedule. The frame has since been successfully installed on-site, with no reported issues—demonstrating the accuracy of our detailing and the benefit of close coordination between all parties.
